  • Mountain Area Health Education Center has a variety of education resources including a discussion forum for community based preceptors and e-modules for preceptors. http://www.mtn.ncahec.org/pdp/index.asp

  • The preceptor orientation binder for RAN/RAS preceptors is filled with contact information, evaluation forms and papers useful for community-based preceptors.

  • An excellent easy to read reference book is:

  • For something that will fit into your pocket, the UBC teaching skills for community-based preceptors is an excellent quick reference. It is available by request to the office of faculty development at: facdev@interchange.ubc.ca

  • The UofA Libraries' PDA Zone is an excellent resource for handhelds. It can be found at this address PDA ZONE

  • The AFMC resource “A Faculty Development Program for Teachers of International Medical Graduates” was developed under the leadership of Drs. Yvonne Steinert and Allyn Walsh and funded by Health Canada. It is designed to help prepare teachers to work effectively and collaboratively with IMGs, and to enhance the learning and practice experience of IMGs.
