Rural Alberta North Residency Program

Rural Alberta North is the rural family medicine residency program of the University of Alberta.

Rural practice is a demanding but exciting and fulfilling career choice. RAN's innovative two-year program prepares medical graduates for certification in Family Medicine and for practice anywhere in Canada.

Through the CaRMS match residents choose a home base for the two years in either Grande Prairie (CaRMS code 756720) or Red Deer (CaRMS code 756620).

The next sections will give you an overview of Rural Alberta North's innovative Academic Programming, the supports available to its Residents, and how trainees are evaluated.
